Deposits & Payments
A non-refundable deposit as specified by Cakes & Drapes is required to confirm a booking; quotes are valid for 14 days from date of issue.
Wedding Cake balance of payment is due by bank transfer or cash 1 month before delivery date.
Celebration Cake balance of payment is due by bank transfer before or cash on collection
Amendments & Cancellations
Amendments can usually be accommodated up to 2 weeks before delivery/collection date and must be requested in writing; they may be subject to an additional charge.
In exceptional circumstances Cakes & Drapes reserves the right to substitute dummy tier/s to maintain the integrity of the cake; an equivalent portion cutting would be provided and the customer or venue fully informed should this be necessary.
Cakes & Drapes reserves the right of artistic licence to make minor alterations to agreed design. Food colourings may not match your event colours perfectly but Cakes & Drapes will make every effort to recreate the colours you require, you must provide samples for reference if requested.
In the event of cancellation all deposits are non-refundable.
Wedding Cakes cancelled within 1 month of due date are fully non-refundable.
Celebration Cakes cancelled within 1 week of due date will be charged at 50% of the outstanding balance.
In the unlikely event of Cakes & Drapes being unable to supply your cake due to circumstances beyond our control all payments will be refunded in full. No further compensation will be awarded.
Delivery
Cakes & Drapes recommends delivery for all wedding cakes due to weight & fragility, some designs require completion at the venue.
A Wedding Cake remains the responsibility of Cakes & Drapes until it is set up and handed over to the customer or their representative eg caterer or venue management, after this time Cakes & Drapes takes no further responsibility.
Celebration Cakes are for collection only and are no longer the responsibility of Cakes & Drapes once they have left the premises. It is highly recommended that your cake is transported flat in the boot, never on a seat or a passengers lap.
Whilst every effort will be made to complete a delivery Cakes & Drapes cannot be held liable for weather, traffic or other conditions beyond our control. Any financial compensation for non-delivery or damage which is deemed the fault of Cakes & Drapes is limited to the cost of the order. There will be no further compensation.
Complaints
Every care and attention will be given to ensure your cake reaches you in perfect condition. In the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy Cakes & Drapes must be notified within 24 hours and at least 2/3rd of the cake (or affected tier) returned to fairly assess the nature of the complaint. The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature and in the box supplied, out of the sun and away from damp conditions. Action will be taken as deemed appropriate by either repair, replacement, partial or full refund. After this time no refund/replacement will be offered due to the perishable nature of the product. Refunds will be assessed on the basis of the cake being inedible, we cannot take responsibility for such examples as personal taste, ordering too much cake or customers who have simply changed their minds. All refunds are at the discretion of Cakes & Drapes and the maximum refund offered is the value of the cake, there will be no further compensation.
Allergies
Whilst cakes may be made without dairy, gluten or nuts Cakes & Drapes cannot guarantee against cross contamination as your cake will be prepared in a kitchen where known allergens are present; a full list of ingredients can be provided on request. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform those eating the cake that allergens may be present.
Photography
Cakes & Drapes reserves the right to photograph your cake before delivery or collection for reference and advertising.
Photographs of cakes on this website are the property of Cakes & Drapes and must not be used by others for advertising or commercial gain without express permission. Photographs credited to a photographer have been used with their express permission by Cakes & Drapes only.
